Would any of the other presidential candidates think a debate on the issues would be good?

I think a debate between the three candidates would be a good idea, and I'd like to volunteer myself to mediate, if the other candidates are interested.

I would completely be willing to debate and kakali would be the perfect mediator.

I would be more than happy to take part in a debate. All we need now is a time, a place & a list of topics to be debated.

Time: 10:15 am (US Central, 4:15pm UK Time), either on Tuesday Nov. 18, or Tuesday Nov. 25
Place: Royal Assembly Chambers, Ali'i Kaona, RS Luthoria
Questions: The list that Rebecca posted at Anthony's Town Hall meeting here in the square will suffice (with a wild card or two maybe tossed in)
Will this work for the candidates?

I can't have a debate during weekday business hours because I work, and attend classes. I will also require that you post the times in Toronto Eastern time.

Anybody else have a time that they CAN"T be online for the debate? Cause if were limited to non-weekdays, we'll have to try for this or next saturday.
Say, 4:00 Central (5 Toronto, 10 London)?

I can't do those dates. Weekdays are the only days I can possibly do.

Not that I'm too bothered myself, but wouldn't it make things easier for people just to post as they come along? So, say for example, "the starting date is x, and it'll run all week til x date". Make things easier than specifying a defined time and date. Lets everyone have a chance at posting, including Anthony and Matt who're having problems.

I was looking more towards a MSN Messenger Deabte in which all the candidates can join in one giant convo and citizens can ask questions etc... Though, getting times to suit everyone is going to be a problem as everyone is in different time zones and has different things to do and attend. In addittion, a forum post debate, isn't really a debate as such and can take a very long time, the election may very well be over before we've even started. Therefore, I think we should plan this debate for a week day which is after 5 Matt's Time, that way we'll all be free to attend. If not, then looks like it will have to be a 1 to 1 with 2 candidates rather than 3, with a series of 2 debates per candiate.

Perhaps the questions should be asked here on the Main forum, and on each day one question is asked and the candidates each have a chance to tackle the daily question ONLY once. I don't think we have the time to hold a live debate.

The only thing about this proposal is that one has to be active on the forum every day in order to take part fully and also giving one reply isn't realy a debate, its just more commenting on a issue and how can the first person to respond to the post engage in a debate if he can only post once. Therefore, Mr. Kovac's proposal isn't really suited to a debate style thread, unless the issue is kept open for a day with ample oppertunity for everyone to read and respond to the post.

If a candidate can not dedicate a few minutes each day on the Ocian Forums with a few exceptions then they shouldn't be running. Mr. Dervin, no one here can think of anything creative that we've seen come out of your presidency, certainly no activity, I think that if you expect to win a second term, a second term which would kill Ocia, then you should be at least apt to spend some minutes on the forum each day.

We need to settle on something. I think that Mr. Kovac's idea would work best for our settings here. Will the candidates all agree to this? If so, I'll set a starting time and date, plus basic parameters.
