Citizens of the Federation,
Ocia has entered into election season again, and everyone seems to be getting very anxious about who will become the next President of the Federation. I would like to take this opportunity to officially state that, while I had given serious thought to run in this election, I have decided to sit this presidential election out, and simply vote for one of the candidates already running.
Now, I know many people were all abuzz about the recent endorsement of President Michael Dervin by the LDO. What can I say? I think that they have made an excellent choice. President Dervin has served us well these past six months. As Prime Minister, I have greatly enjoyed working alongside President Dervin to make Ocia a greater nation that it was before we both took office. Mr. Dervin is a man of good moral character and judgment, and is a good choice for the upcoming election.
That said, I'd also like to take this time to say that Matt Kovac is ALSO a good choice for the presidency. He has experience and a passion for this nation that we all love and that he founded.
I know that some of you were probably expecting me to come out and make a solid endorsement for one to the candidates, as the LDO did yesterday. I have decided, however, that due to my good friendship with both of these fine statesmen, that for me to do so would be unfair and inappropriate. I value my friendship with these leaders, and do not think that I could choose between them in such a public way. Both of these men have great qualities that will make either of them successfully at being president, of that I have no doubt. I will say that Ocia will have a different feel depending on who wins, but that is neither a negative thing or a positive thing, just a predictable outcome that a nation will take on the energy and personality of it's leader.
I pray that whoever wins this election on the first of December will work hard to make Ocia great. I think that it is fair to say that Ocia is in a bit of a slump recently. Whether that is from leadership or just from the simple fact that people are busy macronationaly. Whoever is elected in December is going to have to be very active, making meaningful posts as frequently as possible. The winner of the election must be active internationally as well. In fact, I would encourage the winner of the election to take an international tour by no later than January of 2009. The winner must also be an active participant at the new MicroHub web forum, and be engaged in the discussions that are working on creating the successor of the GSO, which Ocia was a member of.
The winner of these election will also need to work with all citizens here at home to work on streamlining our infrastructure, working out the kinks in our economy to ensure that our system will work and work to the benefit of the Ocian people. The winner must also work to promote and develop the culture of this Federation that we all love.
I wish the best of luck to all the candidates. I ask the people of this great Federation to take the next few weeks, and make an evaluation of the men running for our nation's highest office, and see who you think will be able to best accomplish the things I listed above as priorities, and then vote for that candidate on December 1st, 2008.
May God bless you and keep you all
