Friends,
I come before you today to announce my candidacy for the position of President of the Ocian Federation because I know the next term doesn’t have to be like the past six months. My opponent began to throw criticisms at me before I even got a chance to announce my intetions on running, his speech was in bad taste and although I have a deep respect for him I would expect more.
Earlier this year Mr. Dervin criticized me for running Ocian Foreign Affairs at the whim of my “personal Vendetta.” I find that statement extremely hypocritical considering the fact that he recently announced to me that he planned on severing relations with a certain nation which has been our partner for quite some time, simply because he disagreed with the personal views of one of their citizens and his desire to create a simulationst religion to increase their culture. Tell me Ocian friends, is this the moderate foreign policy decisions my opponent claims to have?
I would like to outline some very important points on how I would tackle foreign policy so we can clariy things.
1. Closen relations with our Allies. Throughout the course of this administration we have seen no dialogue with our allies, no negotiations, no state visits, but instead my opponent has spent more time making dialogue with our Fascist Imperils enemies who at any opportunity would try and destroy us.
2. Develop trade relations with Micran nations especially Novantainia and Toketi, these nations have a friendly demeanour yet our President has had no desire to form friendly relations with them.
3. If elected President, I will host an economic conference to forge new trade alliances and to bolster the Ocian Economy.
4. As President, I would stand firm against our enemies, I would condemn the Imperialist Fascism and stand up to any threat against us.
Ladies and Gentlemen, my opponent wonders why Ocia has been a flat tire lately. He is willing to put the blame on anyone but himself. During my charismatic presidency Ocia’s activity was constantly high. I compare Mr. Dervin’s Presidency to a dry piece of toast lacking in both charisma and putting forth effort. With our current President we did not see the introduction of new programs; we did not see a solution for Ocia’s failing economy. Six months ago Mr. Dervin misled the Ocian people, he proclaimed that the elderly rights would be preserved, that new nursing homes would be built, that new Social Programs were going to be created, that Ocia would be a global energy leader, and that Ocia would get a new constitution. Fellow Ocians, we have seen very little of this. Where is the constitution the President claimed that he was nearly finished nearly 7 Months ago? What I have seen is a President detached from Society. He claims that he has fulfilled his election promises by merely signing off a quick re-allocation of funds. I am running for President because I know Ocians deserve better.
Do you want to know what 6 more months of a Dervin Presidency would look like? Look in the rear view mirror. Flat-lining activity, failed foreign policy the list goes on.
Ladies and Gentlemen, not so long ago the Ministry of Defence requested that the Supreme Commander of the ODF and President of the Ocian Federation visit the Dalmantian Brigade, a brigade which suffered horribly when the Adraisian Scum attacked it last spring. Our President declined the invitation, infact the President has yet to inspection a military unit, organize a Military event, or direction the Ocian High Command on the military reforms he claimed that he would introduce.
How will things be different under my leadership? In the next few days I will put it bluntly and I will release my 25 Point plan on how I will make Ocia do better.
