The President, smartly dressed and holding a fistful of papers, walks into the Press Room in the Presidnetial Palace, steps up onto the podium and beings to speak:
My Fellow Ocians,
When I took the office of President just under six months ago, I came in with the promise of change, reform and a better Ocia for all, this was the principal in that the citizens of our fair nation, elected me to lead this great nation on and it was on this very principal, I have led this nation over the last six months. Six long months of many trial and tribulations, many hurdles and pitfalls, but it also was one filled with successes, hope, friendship and the strengthening of the community spirit and determination to succeed and not only a nation, but a group of like minded individuals who strive for one common goal, this goal is perfection. Perfection in our laws, our economic system, our courts, our intermicronational affairs and our foreign policy, in our share and trading system, in our political parties, in our assembly and not to mention in our spirit of friendship and goodwill to one another. It is from our ruthless pursuing of these goals, that we have made a great nation, a nation to which many look upon with envious eyes, but we will not stop here, we will continue on to make the perfect, more perfect and the excellent, more excellent and in what we view as a failure, we will learn from these mistakes and move on to build upon our newly gained knowledge, to one day build the perfect Utopia, in which we call our homeland.
It has been my absolute privilege to be the Head of State of this great nation in our pursuit of perfection and to be the person who has guided the development and construction of this nation through innovative plans and ideas, generated and inspired by you the citizens of this nation, for whom without none of the achievements over the last six months, could or would have been possible. We have seen reforms of our economic sector, Ocia adopting the new policy of Dialogue before War, something never seen before during the Kovac Administration, a new open and friendly Foreign Policy which has adopted a neutrality policy and ensures Ocia extends her hand in friendship to all nations who value and uphold the freedoms and principals in which, we in Ocia strive to uphold and protect. We have seen once burned bridges mended, a fact which many thought impossible when I first entered this office, but we have proven our doubter wrong, time and time again. We have introduced Health Care Plans, Plans for the Support of the Elderly, Education and Development which give generous grants and subsidies to Students learning in our fair nation, we have seen the rise and fall of nations, embracing the new as our friends and allies and learning from the mistakes of those who have fallen. We have introduced Budgetary and Tax plans, which favour stainable and substantial growth and development in Ocia while supporting the Green agenda of this nation, in keeping our country beautiful. We have reformed the Military and upgraded our defence and offence so that we are more than equipped to defend ourselves and others should the occasion arise, with a modern and technologically advanced armed forces. These my fellow Ocians, are part of the Change, reforms and plans for a better Ocia, which as your President I have overseen, initiated, developed and been the deriving force behind over the last six months in my term in Office as President of this fine nation. As your President, I have lived up to my promises in which I made on the long campaign trial last May, a campaign in which I promised to take Ocia down another path, a path of success, prosperity, friendship, peace and progress, rather than the alternative offered by Mr. Kovac of uncertainty, conflict, isolation, ignorance and self-destruction which Mr. Kovac had already begun to lead Ocia down. It is my belief and the belief of many citizens in Ocia today, that should the vote of gone to Mr. Kovac, then Ocia would of not survived the Summer and would not be in the prosperous and world leading position it is in today. I lived up to my side of the bargain and you to yours, and together we have made our plan and vision for the last six months possible!
But this has not been without bumps along the way, with the disasters such as the Curtis Affair in which a person of power and trust abused it to the extent, that he broke our laws and our constitution, degraded our citizens and demoralised the progress of our nation. However, it was this Administration that allowed Curtis into Office and it was this Administration upon seeing the abuse made by Curtis were the ones to stand up to him, challenge his ways and means and was the administration to finally give him the boot and saw the back of his conniving little ways, a move which we paid heavily for in the loss of ca. 1,000 forum posts and the hard work of some being lost to history. However, we together as a nation recovered, under my leadership to begin to undo what the Curtis Curse brought unto us and rebuild, while all the time learning and it was from this experience that we now stand here today as a stronger nation, rather than a naïve nation. We learn from our mistakes and mishaps and have incorporated them into our plans for the future on our path to ultimate perfection.
Change, Reform and a Better Ocia have been achieved, but the road of Ocia does not end here, we have a lot done, but more to do and this is why I am pleased to announce that, I will once again be running for President of the Ocian Federation, to finish what I have Started, Build upon what I have Built and perfect what I have already perfected. The Last 6 months have been a true and undeniable proof that a Dervin led Adminsitration, is the perfect solution for the leadership of this State, with Michael Dervin as President, Ocia has entered a new beginning, one of hope and a future and it is my hope that the Ocian people will look back over the last 6 months and agree with me, that I am the man to lead them down this path into the future, where we can together achieve our ultimate dream of a Ocia which outshines all other nations and will be the perfect model for which generations of Micronationalists will admire, talk about and strive to build their nations upon. Ocia has come along way in six months, think what we could do in another, with Dervin once again at the helm, putting you the citizen above all else to build a nation which you will be proud to call home. Together we can make the impossible, possible, the unimaginable and reality, but only if you back the President who has shown results and real progress, this President is Michael Dervin. Our Campaign starts today in the Presidential Palace and will end back in this very spot where, I will be looking forward to my second term in Office and you to a Ocia of endless possibilities, together we can make dreams come true.
