I come with grave news of developments in the Kingdom of Rambai.
As you may be aware, the Kingdom has been in a state of turmoil the past few months. The erstwhile King Paduka Kebawah had in the middle of last year merged Rambai with the Kingdom of Novasolum and abdicated as King of Rambai. As Novasolum had fallen into inactivity, as then Senior Noble, I had Rambai secceed, to chart our own path. This seccession was later recognised by King John of Novasolum. Paduka Kebawah then returned to Rambai and started to behave as King again. In Jun 08, Paduka tried to remove Orthodoxism as the State Religion, a key agreement in the Treaty of Sisodia which merged the old Commonwealth of the Dekkan and Sultanate of Rambai into the Kingdom of Rambai. As Patriarch of Orthodoxism, I of course rejected this outright. I informed Paduka Kebawah that I was withdrawing recognition of him as King and ordered Rambanese troops in the Dekkan to swear allegiance to me as Regent of Rambai. I was charged and arrested and a trial commenced to determine the vailidity of my claim.
My claim is legally valid. Let me explain. Paduka's letter of abdication declared (I guess he was using a standard text) that his abdication was "irrevocable" for him and his descendants. He therefore never could be King of Rambai ever again and was therefore usurper to the throne in the past few months. My claim as Regent of Rambai is currently valid, as my declaration of seccession, which both declared Rambai independent again and me as Regent, was recognised by both King John of Novasolum and Paduka himself.
During the trial, Paduka attempted to get the Court to rule that I was not Regent of Rambai outside of the proceedings by launching a separate petition not under adversarial conditions. the Court scuttled this. Paduka then tried to ask for an indefinite continuance, which I objected to as there were two counsels, so even if Paduka was not available, Mahasamut, the lead counsel could have represented them in the Court. However, before the Court could respond, Paduka took the appaling step of deleting the forums and calling for a "hiatus", something which he cannot do becasue he has no legal powers to do so. He probably saw my line of argument, knew that he would lose in the Court and sought to do something terribly drastic and unacceptable. You can view the decimated Rambai forums rambai.proboards81.com/index.cgi.
Paduka's letter contains contradictions in so many ways and levels. He claims that he is doing it for the good of the country, and yet states that he is doing it for the personal and very selfish and irresponsible reason of not having "had the time or inclination to commit to (his) duties here". He says that he wants to protect the "legacy of the nation" and yet has deleted the forums. Most importantly, he does not have legal standing to do so. And now he has destroyed the legal evidence that incirminates him. Thankfully, I had, prophetically fearing that he would delete it, saved a screenshot of the all-important instrument of abdication. That aside, the deletion of forums should always be an act condemned.
To ensure the continuation of the Kingdom, which really has grown over the past few years (how many micronations even last that), I have created a new website for the Kingdom under the rule of the legitimate Regent of Rambai: www.freewebs.com/rambai. We will continue to build this country and make it great. Although our historical records have been destroyed, it is fresh in our minds and we will start anew, both to chart a new future, as well as to recollect our past and fill our now empty books with them again. Prince Constantin of Sisodia has pledged that Sisodia will remain in the Kingdom and has recognised my Regency.
The selfishness of one man and his willingness to commit something so heinous as the deletion of a country's entire forum should not be allowed to bring a nation down, and especially when he is not even the legal King.
I hope that the government of the Ocian Federation will recognise this Regency, the legitimate government of Rambai.
Thank you.
Cyril
