If all these High Ranking Public Officials in the air, looks like we may need to have the Ministry fo Defence give you a guarded escort with a couple of fighter jets.

Appologies for all delay. Here is the broadcast of the launch of the Sky King, 'recorded' live on Sunday, August 10. LNN Special Report: Launch of the Sky KingAli’i Kaona- This is a special broadcast of the launch of the Sky King, being recorded live from Ali’i Kaona International Airport, outside the Luthorian Capital. We take you now to our announcers at the Prince Aedan Terminal, who are standing by to watch the launch of Koniglicher Luftschiffservice’s first airship. (Alex) Luthorian Announcer: Hello all, and thank you for joining us on LNN. What you see behind myself and my Ocian counterpart is the Sky King, the first ever built state-of-the-art Imperial Class airship. She arrived here in Ali’i Kaona earlier this weekend, and has been awaiting the start of her maiden voyage to November City and Directus. You can also see the large crowd that has turned out for the event, in part to see the ship, and also to see the many famous persons that will be here today. Among them is the famous New Hawaiian writer Lucas Pellia, TV star William McDonald from Port Shannon, radio host John Michaels, and movie actress Lucile Dulan, who recently starred in the movie Lost City. Most of the ‘rich and famous’ that will be riding in style to Ocia have already arrived, but, as the saying goes, the best is kept for last. Arriving shortly will be Aaron and the Swing Kings, Luthoria’s most popular band. Their most popular songs Hindenburg Hop, Take Me Home to the Clouds, and Luftschiff Jive have been at the top of the Luthorian charts for weeks. In addition to these songs they wrote themselves, the radio waves above Luthoria have been filled with their new renditions of such classics like In the Mood, Chattanooga Choo Choo, String of Pearls, and Pennsylvania 65000. They will be performing on the Sky King, and will also be touring Ocia upon arrival. Derrick, I’m told that their music is gaining popularity in Ocia as well, correct? (Derrick) Ocian Announcer: That is correct. Although not the most popular group in the Federation, their older style is starting to gain a real following, and it is expected that they will play before sold out crowds in both November City and Directus. The President and the Deputy Prime Minister are both expected to go see them play as well. I have to say that their rise in popularity comes somewhat as a surprise to me. Luthorian style has always seemed in the past, especially compared to ultra-modern Ocia. But their success up there says that their music goes beyond all that. And I have to say that I’ve been very impressed with Luthoria since I arrived after the merger. Like I said, to an outsider, Luthoria seems stuck back in the 1930s. But when you come here, the people are friendly, and the state-of-the-art isn’t all that different from Ocia, just more subtle and disguised as old-fashioned. Although, I doubt that you will see department stores in Ocia carrying Luthorian fashions anytime soon. (Alex) Luthorian Announcer: You know, speaking of the Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Kovac is here in Luthoria today for the Luthoria Day celebrations, and is going to be heading back to Directus on the Sky King. And…Ah, we are hearing that Aaron and the Swing Kings have arrived. Let’s go to our man on the ground, Will Dumont. Dumont: Well Alex, Derrick, Aaron and the Swing Kings have just arrived out here on the tarmac, and the crowd is going wild. The band is supposed to play out here just before lift off, for the arrival of King Kakali and Deputy Prime Minister Kovac, the top VIPs on this trip. Right now, they are making their way to the bandstand, and having a slow time of it, signing autographs and taking pictures with the crowd. I’m going to go up and see if I can talk to the band leader, Aaron Reichmann. Excuse me, Mr. Reichmann, can I have a word? Reichmann: Of course, of course. Hello Luthoria! Dumont: Aaron, what do you think about this whole trip, both the flight itself and Ocia as well? Reichmann: Well the boys and I are thrilled to have this opportunity. I am still surprised that His Majesty actually called us personally to invite us on this trip. We are honored to have the privilege to play for the passengers on the maiden voyage of this amazing ship, and totally excited to get to sail on her as well. The guys and I are also excited that we get to finally play for our growing number of fans up in Ocia. I was told this morning that our concert in November City is already sold out, and that the concert in Directus should be shortly. As a musician, there is nothing better. Dumont:[/] Are you surprised that your style of music has caught on in Ocia?
Reichmann: Somewhat, seeing as how Ocian musicians are either in the modern mix of things, or are completely devoted to the classical. It’s nice to see that Ocians like all kinds of music, and that they accept us Luthorian musicians just as they do their own. I think it is a great start in forging a unified people that is sure to come since we joined the Federation. Well, it’s been great talking to you. The boys and I have to go set up and prepare to play for the King’s arrival.
Dumont: Alright, thanks Aaron. Now back to you, Alex.
(Alex) Luthorian Announcer: Thanks Will. We’d like our viewers at home to know that King Kakali’s motorcade has left the Royal Palace, and is making it’s way towards the airport. The last we heard, it was heading down Kingdom Street, and would soon be turning onto Sky Boulevard.
It’s interesting that King Kakali chose to take this craft to Ocia for his first big visit since the merger, instead of the recently completed Royal Galaxy, the airship built just for the King. LNN asked the palace about that, and we were told that the King wanted to highlight the construction of this larger craft, and to make the maiden voyage of this airship truly unique and special. The Royal Galaxy took its short maiden flight down to New Brandenburg City, and is now in hangar at the Ali’i Kaona Naval Base north of the City, under the watchful eye of the Royal Guard. Derrick, We just got word that the King’s motorcade is about to pull up in front of the terminal. Let’s switch to our roof cam to get a good look
SEE: The King’s motorcade pulls up in front of the Prince Aedan terminal. The Royal Guard agents get out of the lead and rear cars first, and open the door of the King’s limousine. The King and the Deputy Prime Minister get out and wave to the cheering crowd, and head toward the entrance of the terminal building, flanked by dark suited RG agents.
(Alex) Luthorian Announcer: The King and the Deputy Prime Minister are now inside the Terminal, and will meet shortly with the Air Marshal of this airport, and with Captain Lawrence, both of whom will escort the King from the terminal across the tarmac to the Sky King. Once they near the podium next to the airship’s lowered gangway, Aaron and the Swing Kings will play a song, and then the King will give a short speech. Were going to go live to our cameramen outside to see what’s going on.
SEE: King Kakali, Deputy Prime Minister Kovac, the Air Marshal, and Captain Lawrence exit the back of the terminal, and make there way down the long red carpeted path towards the airship, either side of which is lined with people. The King and the Deputy PM stop to shake hands, sign autographs, and take pictures, all the while flanked by his RG agents. As they get closer to the airship, Aaron and the Swing Kings begin to play ‘In the Mood’. King Kakali and the others are now at the podium. The band finishes, and the King steps up to the podium to give a speech.
King Kakali: Citizens, what a glorious summer day for this historic occasion. Today, Luthorian ingenuity and know-how has produced for us this magnificent vessel, which will now ferry passengers to the rest of the Federation, and the world beyond. It is my hope that this airship, along with the other ships here at morring in Ali’i Kaona and under construction in Luthoria City will be just the first in amazing fleet of airships that will link Luthoria with Ocia and the rest of the world in our own unique way. Now that we have become a part of the larger Ocian Federation, we must seek to make ourselves become a part of that nation, but at the same time not forget who we are as a unique people. And I think today we have done just that. This airship, built with all the modern comforts and highest technology available, has the unique look and flavor of Luthoria. Well, I would love to stay and make a longwinded speech expected of a politician, but I have a flight to catch. Thank you all, and good day.
SEE: King Kakali steps away from the podium, the crowd cheering and waving. Captain Lawrence, the Deputy Prime Minister, and the King make their way to the lowered gangway stairs hanging from the belly of the ship, and ascend, disappearing from view. Aaron and the Swing Kings head up to the ship as well, as do a few other people, mostly crew. Soon, the gangway stairs are raised. The crowd begins to move away from the ship, and the ground crew prepares to let go of the mooring ropes. The mooring mast is disconnected from the ship, and she slowly begins to rise. Water is released from the ballasts, and the ascension speeds up. The ground crew releases the ropes, which are quickly reeled into the ship. She continues to gain altitude, and soon heads away from the airport, first heading towards the city, and then back west.
(Alex) Luthorian Announcer: A truly remarkable sight. The Sky King will first fly over the capital of Luthoria, and will then turn back west and begin it’s one week journey to Ocia. It is scheduled to fly over New Belfast, Luthoria City, and New Berlin before heading out over open ocean. The Sky King is expected to arrive in Corcovado, Alexandria, sometime on the evening of August 13th, which is the King’s birthday, by the way. She will land, refuel, and leave the following evening. Then the ship will head out, skirt around Riponia, before heading north towards Ocia. The ship is expected to arrive in November City sometime in the evening on August 17th, where the ship will stay for two days, allowing the passengers to see the sites. On the 20th, her passengers will awake at the airport in Directus. She will begin the return voyage on August 22nd, and is expected back in Ali’i Kaona on August 28th.
(Alex) Luthorian Announcer: Well, that’s all for now, ladies and gentlemen. Stay tuned, and next Thursday and Friday LNN will bring you a live special broadcast of the Sky King’s arrival in Ocia. This has been a LNN special presentation.
