Take Note, as of 00:00:00 on the 1st December 2007, all candidates in the Presidential Elections are forbidden from making any more posts or other advertisements in any form for the election. This is to allow the voting citizens time to consider the best candidate for the Role of President without undue pressure or intimidation from a Candidate or candidates on Election Day. Thus this commission will not allow any ads or posts or other Election related items (public or non-public) to be issued by anyone for or on behalf of a candidate or by the candidate themselves.
Any Candidate found to breech this Restriction as outlined above, will be immediately disqualified from the election and fined T1,000 or if the commission finds out after the election has finished that such activity has taken place, the candidate will be fined T2,000 and/or be disqualified from running in future Elections. If the candidate was successful in the election and breeched the Above, The Commission will find that the Election of the Candidate was invalid and therefore a new election will be called.
The Decision of this Commission can be appealed in a Court of Law in Ocia and the court will reserve judgement in the case. The Commission, will always investigate the Alleged Breech before we take any action, as a result IPA and E-mails may be obtained by the Commission to ensure no foul play.
This Restriction and Notice Takes Effect immediately,
Signed and enforced:
M. Dervin Chairman and Minister for Justice
