The newly unveiled ‘Call of the Ocian Motherland’ Monument dedicated to fallen Ocian soldiers who died defending Lucern in the Great Patriotic War Against Fascist Aggression. An Inscription of the Words of Matt Kovac lies beneath the monument.
"You Would Not Bare the shame. You Resisted; sacrificing your life for Freedom, Justice and the Independence of your motherland."
Ocian Veterans,
Comrade Officers,
Fellow Ocians,
It is with a heavy heart that under these circumstances I am honouring the brave citizens of Lucern who died for their motherland and resisted despite overwhelmingly unfavourable odds. During the war which claimed thousands of Ocian Lives, both civilian and military, the citizens of Lucern demonstrated their overwhelming patriotism which persevered even during the hardest moments. Not one Ocian soldier surrendered, not one civilian bowed to the demands of the occupier and all contributed towards driving out the evil, unmoral and satanic fascist aggressors.
I do hereby honour the city of Lucern under my constitutional powers, the highly esteemed title of Hero City of the Ocian Federation for the noble and patriotic acts of the city's citizens during the war. This monument, which I have named the ‘Call of the Ocian Motherland” monument, can never be a sufficient enough reminder of the ultimate sacrifice our great warriors payed. May it be a reminder however that we will never forget, never surrender and always persevere against tyranny.
I was deeply moved recently after touring the now destroyed St. Cyril fortress which lies on the border of Hamland. On that fateful night last month when the coward enemy launched a relentless and merciless attack on our homeland it was the 400 Border guards stationed at St. Cyril Fortress that was the very first line of defence. These valiant border troops responded to the attack of a force ten times their own size. After hours upon hours of enduring enemy shelling the last border guard laid his life on the alter of freedom. The troops had left a message on the wall: “So long motherland, I may be dying but I’m not surrendering.” For this reason I personally insisted that the Momument be constructed of stone from St. Cyril Fortress on the grounds where so many Ocians lost their lives. We must rebuild, but it must be upon the solid foundation of freedom and independence the warriors of the Patriotic war built.
It is our most sincere promise to you, the Citizens of Lucern and the Ocian People that we will avenge every single attack made on Ocian territory. We will not rest until every aggressor is punished.
