President of the Ocian Federation Matt Kovac placed a wreath in front of the "Defender's of the Motherland Monument" in North Point. The Inscription on the wreath read: "You would not bear the shame of foreign occupation. You Resisted. Fallen Comrades You will not be Ever Forgetten."
Comrade officers and generals,
Dear veterans,
Esteemed guests,
Today on the occasion marking the second anniversary of the founding of the Ocian Federation it is important for us to remember those who helped maintain this nation’s national independence. Together it is fitting that we remember those who fought and died defending their motherland here in North Point which was attacked just under two years ago. We owe the brave Air men and women, sailors and soldiers who defended this northern outpost our most sincere thanks, for without them this territory and it’s free citizens may not have existed today. Never again North Point!
Throughout our history, defending our native land has always been the moral and civic duty of every citizen. Across Ocia, the whole community, from young to old, always rose as one to defend its land and homes, and so on this holiday –Federation Day we should therefore remember these people and their patriotic duties.
I offer my most sincere words of gratitude today to the Armed Forces veterans and heroes who fought and continue to gallantly fight for the battle against imperialism. You defended your nation’s right to be sovereign and free and you completed your noble liberating mission of freeing other peoples like the east Ocains or Bosworthians from enslavement and violence.
We honor the soldiers and officers who carry on the Ocian military’s glorious traditions today. At a difficult time in the development of modern Ocian nation hood you bore upon your shoulders the responsibility for preserving our country’s territorial integrity.
Recruitment and training issues have taken on new significance today in the Armed Forces. Compulsory military service has given many Ocian men a good military grounding, but today’s military missions call for genuine professionals, and for this reason paramount attention must focus now on the quality of military education. This is why I will be authoring several textbooks for Ocian military use and will be promptly distributed.
Dear friends, Ocia today is an open, peace-loving and democratic country. We do not threaten anyone and have no intention of using force to achieve our aims. We have no need to impose our will on other peoples. But today’s Micras contains many worrying threats and challenges and a strong military capability and strong army therefore remain the guarantee of Ocia’s national security and continued development, and on the global level, act as a factor in ensuring international stability.
I want to stress that Ocia has no intention of letting itself be subordinated to any other nation, and we shall continue to ensure this by the development of military infrastructure around our nation...
In conclusion, I would like to congratulate once more the veterans and all Armed Forces servicemen and civilian personnel on Federation day.
President: Long Live the Ocian Federation!
Honour Guard: URA! Serving the Ocian Federation!
