I think I have solved this Issue: I have set up a group at: groups.yahoo.com/group/ociagov/ To get membership in the group you will have to be approved by the Admins of the Group (which will be the Electorial Commission). In this group there will be a Poll, this Poll does not display the results of the Poll until it is closed, nor does it reveal as to who voted for what, thus keeping the Voter's vote secret. As only reigstered and approved members can join the group and vote, this method is somewhat secure. Invitations to join will be sent out to registered citizens only at a time when the e-mail addresses of all Citizens are released to the Commission. Please note, all IPA Will be monitored and any use of a Proxy in voting or voting twice is forbidden by Law. Violators risk losing their citizenship, a fate far worse than death! :-D You and you alone are responsible to ensure that you following the instructions in the Invitation so that you can vote in this Poll and to ensure that the Commission has your right e-mail address. Once the Poll has started We CANNOT allow any new citizen or non-registered citizen to vote for security. I wish you all the best, Michael Dervin, Chairman, EC

mmm, looks a little complex and other micronations that are larger have done elections on their forum with no problems. This could also deter people from voting....

its not that complex, you sign up to the group and on voting day, log in and vote via the poll on the group. Simple, just like logging in to the forum and voting in a poll only more secure and secret.

This won't work, the elections are just 2 days away and only two have registered, we will just hold the election here.

I have to agree, but this Group will stay Up for the Assembly Elections, so there is no excuse why people won't have registered by then.
The Commission would like our Deputy Chairman Kerry to be in charge of the running of the Poll on this Forum, while I will be the Independant Observer making sure it all goes smoothly.

I've joined the group.
And why not just have everybody post their vote in a private forum?

Well, we are getting everyone to vote in a poll on this forum and then post to say that they have voted.
